Glyndwr Consulting and WEPCo

Glyndwr are delighted to have been appointed by WEPCo to deliver cost management consultancy services.

WEPCo is a Joint Venture between Meridiam Investments II SAS and the Development Bank of Wales on behalf of Welsh Ministers. WEPCo’s role is to facilitate the delivery of the capital equivalent of £500m of new education facilities using the MIM model. This revenue funded investment via the MIM represents an additional source of funding to the capital funded arm of Band B of the 21st Century Schools and Colleges Programme.

The other design team members include Shepard Robson, ARUP Engineering, The Learning Crowd, Lawray and WSP.

Two pathfinder projects are currently underway:

Mynydd Isa Campus

A new build 3-16 age range school located on the outskirts of Mold, Flintshire which co-locates Ysgol Mynydd Isa (primary) and Argoed High School. The high school and primary school will remain as separate entities, but operate within a single building offering the latest in learning and technology to facilitate a first class education establishment. It is anticipated that the new build school will open for the school term September 2023.

RCT Primary Schools

A batch of 3 primary schools located within Pontyclun, Llanilltud Faerdref and Penygawsi primary school existing sites. Each site will be developed on a phased basis with a new build school built within the existing live sites, whilst normal school teaching activities continue. Once the new build is complete the school will decant over, the existing buildings demolished and the external works and infrastructure completed. It is anticipated that the new build schools will open for the school term September 2023.
